I believe that you are dreaming this because you want Native Americans to be considered equal amongst other people in Bentrock and throughout the country. After over hearing your parents talking about the horrific acts that Frank committed against Marie, Iââ¬â¢m sure your care for the Native American people greatly increased. If you expressed your feelings of Native Americans, they would be extremely grateful to you. In conclusion, your dream shows that you know the truth about the Native Americans in the Bentrock area. They are normal people that live normal lives. They are no different than the white majority. They wear jeans, cowboy boots, cotton print dresses, and flannel shirts just like normal people. The Characters of Brutus and Cassius in Julius Caesar Brutus and Cassius? Of these two who is most suitable to lead the assassination plot and to lead in the civil war? Brutus and Cassius are two very different characters. Brutus is a more dominant and noble character. He is honest, naive, and sincere. Then there is Cassius who is a perceptive person and very manipulative. He is fearful, envious, and a military strategist. Both of them perceive Antony in a different way, this is where their personalities clash and their differences begin. Brutus is a good friend of Caesar, who believes highly in his principles. His principles somewhat control how he behaves. He is influenced by ideas, instead of what other people think. In the play Julius Caesar, Brutus becomes the most complex character, and he becomes the tragic hero of the play. Brutus is a very naive and trusting person when it comes to judging Antony, but he underestimates how dangerous Antony really is. (Act 2 Scene 1, 178) Brutus' decisions have had some bad consequences. Allowing Antony to speak at the funeral and deciding to risk the battle at Philippi was one of his philosophical decisions with a bad consequence. ( Act 4 Scene 3, 228) Although, he thinks that is isn't necessary to kill Antony because without Caesar, Brutus believes Antony is worthless. Brutus is a noble person and holds his country high. Even Cassius knows how noble and honorable Brutus really is. When someone is willing to die for their country, "thou art noble." (Act 1 Scene 2, 320) Everyone even Caesar, admires him and tries to be friends with him. But in the end Brutus is tragic because he tries to be better then he can be and that causes him to fall. Cassius views Caesar differently, he does not like the fact that Caesar has become godlike in the eyes of the Romans. Cassius is a different man to different people, depending on who it is he can be loving or ruthless, gentle or rough, passionate or mean. Caesar's opinion on Cassius is "Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look; He thinks too much: such men are dangerous." Management of Hazardous Wastes
Everday we hear more bad news about our planet. Reports tell us that wildlife and forests are disappearing at an alarming rate. Newscasts give the latest word on how quickly earth is losing its protective shirld and warming up. Newspapers lament the pollution of our air, water, and soil. What can we do in the face of such widespread gloom? In fact, we do not have to feel helpless. We can each learn practical ways to better our environment. For example, saving and recycling newspapers has a number of positive results. First, recycling newspaper saves trees. The average American consumes about 120 pounds of newsprint a year-enough to use up one tree. That means close to 250 million trees each year are destroyed for paper in this country alone. If we recycled only one-tenth of our newpaper, we would save 25 million trees a year. Second, making new paper from old paper uses up much less energy than making paper from trees. Finally, this process also reduces the air pollution of paper-making by 95 percent. Another earth saving habit is ââ¬Å"precyclingâ⬠waste. This means buying food and other products packaged only in materials that will decay naturally or that can be recycled. The idea is to prevent unrecyclable materials from even entering the home. For instance, 60 of the 190 pounds of plastic-especially styrofoam-each American uses a year are thrown out as soon as packages are opened. Be kind to your planet by buying eggs, fast food, and other products in cardboard instead of styrofoam cartons. Buy beverages in glass or aluminum containers instead of plastic ones. Buy in bulk to reduce the amount of packaging, you will save money too. Finally, when you can, buy products whose packing shows the ââ¬Å"recycledâ⬠logo. Materials that have been recycled once can be recycled again. Wise management of hazardous household wastes is yet another way of taking action for the planet. Hazardous wastes include paint, old car batteries, oven and drain cleaners, mothballs, floor and furniture polish, pesticides, and even toilet bowl cleaners. First of all, we should store hazardous materials properly by keeping them in their original containers, making sure they are clearly labeled, and keeping them in a cool, dry place that is out of the reach of children. Second, we can reduce our use of these products by buying only what we need and by sharing anything that might be left over. Third, we should take great care in disposing of hazardous wastes. Certain wastes such as old car batteries and motor oil can be refined and reused, and in some cities can be turned in for special burning. However, local authorities have to be contacted because disposal practices vary so much from place to place. These personal actions may not seem important. At the very least, though, they can relieve some of the helplessness we all feel when faced with the threats of global disaster. If carried out on a larger scale by millions of individuals, they could greatly improve our environment and lives.

These different roles people play have various effects on the society and people around them. In the novel, Beloved, by Toni Morrison, a mysterious girl, Beloved, suddenly appears and changes the main characters, Sethes and Denverââ¬â¢s, lives. Although Belovedââ¬â¢s role in the novel seems ambiguous, it becomes apparent that she is Setheââ¬â¢s reincarnated daughter because of her uncanny knowledge of past events and physicalà appearance; she is also a healer who nurses Setheââ¬â¢s physical wounds and Denverââ¬â¢s emotional wounds, and because of Beloved, Denver and Sethe learn to love themselves. In Setheââ¬â¢s past, many traumatic and painful events occurred. Because of the guilt that these events carry, Sethe forces them to the back of her mind. When Beloved appears, Setheââ¬â¢s process of ââ¬Å"re-memoryâ⬠and healing begins. Although the identity of Beloved is unknown, many events and occurrences in the novel support that Beloved is Setheââ¬â¢s reincarnated daughter whoà Sethe had killed. When Sethe first sees Beloved, her ââ¬Å"bladder filled to capacityâ⬠¦[and] the water she voided was endlessâ⬠(61). Setheââ¬â¢s uncontrollable urge to urinate can be related to her experience while giving birth to Denver, ââ¬Å"â⬠¦there was no stopping the water breaking from a breaking wombâ⬠(61). Setheââ¬â¢s urge to urinate represents her water breaking when she was pregnant with Beloved. Beloved also possesses knowledge that is only known to Sethe and her children. Beloved asks Sethe, ââ¬Å"Where your diamonds? â⬠(69). Beloved was referring to theà crystal earrings Sethe entertained her late daughter, Beloved, with. The only reason Beloved would know about these earring is for her to be Setheââ¬â¢s reincarnated daughter. Finally, the physical appearance of Beloved is baby-like, with her ââ¬Å"new skin, lineless and smooth, including the knuckles of her handsâ⬠(61), and ââ¬Å"her neck no wider than a parlor service saucer, kept bendingâ⬠(60). Her soft and smooth skin and her trouble holding up her head are both characteristics of babies. Finally, the scar on Belovedââ¬â¢s neck is the most apparent evidence ofà Beloved being Setheââ¬â¢s daughter. When Sethe killed her daughter, she slit her throat, and Beloved has a scar on her throat. This physical evidence further proves that Beloved is Setheââ¬â¢s reincarnated daughter. Belovedââ¬â¢s role in the novel is not only as Setheââ¬â¢s daughter, but also as a healer. Sethe physically heals Sethe and emotionally heals Denver. When Sethe is sitting out on the porch one day, she prays to feel the touch of Baby Suggs fingers on her neck. Soon, the ghost of Baby Suggs is massaging her neck and Sethe feels comforted. However, soon thereafter the ââ¬Å"fingersà touching the back of [Setheââ¬â¢s] neck were strongerâ⬠(113), and they soon ââ¬Å"had a grip on [Sethe] that would not let her breatheâ⬠(113). Denver and Beloved rush over to save Sethe and Beloved beings to soothe Setheââ¬â¢s bruised neck. Beloved ââ¬Å"strok[ed] [Setheââ¬â¢s] damp skin that felt like chamois and looked like taffetaâ⬠(114). According to Sethe ââ¬Å"Belovedââ¬â¢s fingers were heavenly. Under them and breathing evenly, the anguish rolled down. The peace Sethe had come there to find crept into herâ⬠(114). The peace Sethe felt because of Belovedââ¬â¢s soothing touch is a result ofà Belovedââ¬â¢s actions as a healer. Beloved also acts as an indirect emotional healer for Denver. Beloved becomes increasingly possessive and sucks the life out of Sethe. Soon, Denver can no longer tell the difference between them. Belovedââ¬â¢s violent behavior forces Denver to venture outside of 124 for help. Denver has to go ââ¬Å"out there were there were places in which things so bad had happened that when you went near them it would happen againâ⬠¦[where] small things scratched and sometimes touchedâ⬠(286-287). Stepping out of 124 and into the community wasà a huge part of Denverââ¬â¢s emotional healing process. Denverââ¬â¢s emotional healing process is the start to her journey to loving herself. Beloved serves as a catalyst for both Sethe and Denver to begin their process of self-love and acceptance. When Beloved entered Setheââ¬â¢s life, Sethe was overcome with guilt and tried to redeem herself by sacrificing everything she had, including her own identity, to please Beloved. After Beloved leaves, Sethe becomes depressed and tells Paul D that ââ¬Å"[Beloved] was my best thingâ⬠(321). Paul D disagrees and tells Sethe, ââ¬Å"You your best thing, Sethe. You areâ⬠(322). Paul D telling Sethe this began her on her path to redemption and loving and accepting herself. Denver was able to start on this path because Beloved forced her to unite with the community. In the novel, Beloved performs many roles. She is a reincarnation of Setheââ¬â¢s daughter and heals Sethe and Denver emotionally. Most importantly, she serves as a catalyst for Sethe and Denverââ¬â¢s path onto self-love and acceptance. This self-love and acceptance gives Sethe and Denver hope and the ability to finally move on from their past and escape their painful memories.

First-year teachers are typically excited, overwhelmed, nervous, anxious, overzealous, and even a little scared. Being a teacher is a rewarding career, but there are times whenà it can be extremely stressful and challenging. Most teachers would agree that the first year is their most difficult, simply because they are not adequately prepared for all that will be thrown at them. à It may sound clichà ©d, but experience really is the best teacher. No matter how much training a first-year teacher receives, nothing can truly prepare them for the real thing. Teaching is composed of many different uncontrollable variables, making each day its own unique challenge. It is important for first-year teachers to remember that they are running a marathon and not a race. No single day, good or bad, can dictate success or failure. Instead, it is the culmination of every moment added together, There are several strategies that can help make each day for a first-year teacher go smoother. The following survival guide will help teachers as they begin their journey into this incredible and rewarding career path. Arrive Early and Stay Late Contrary to popular belief, teaching is not an 8:00 a.m.ââ¬â 3:00 p.m. job, and this is especially true for first-year teachers. By default, it takes first-year teachers more time to prepare than it will a veteran teacher. Always afford extra time. Arriving early and staying late allows you to properly prepare in the mornings and tie up loose ends at night. Stay Organizedà Being organized is another key component that takes time and is essential to being a successful teacher. There are so many variables to account for that, if you are not organized, it can be very difficult to keep up with your responsibilities. Always keep in mind that organization and preparation are linked. Build Relationships Early and Often Building healthy relationshipsà often takes a lot of hard work and effort. However, it is a vital component if you want to be successful. Relationships must be forged with administrators, faculty and staff members, parents, and students. You will have a different relationship with each of these groups, but each is equally beneficial for you to be an effective teacher. Administrators ââ¬â The key to building a healthy relationship with an administrator is to gain their trust by being a professional in all aspects. Hard work, reliability, dedication, and effective teaching results will help maintain a healthy relationship with your administrators.Faculty and Staff Members ââ¬â All first-year teachers should rely upon one or several veteran teachers to assist and guide them through the first year. Having a support system of other teachers is invaluable. It is also essential to forge healthy relationships with all personnel in the school. Each staff member has a particular area of expertise that you will likely be beneficial to you.Parents ââ¬â Parents can be your best friend orà worst enemy. Building a healthy relationship with parents relies on two key factors. The first is that you make it clear that your number one goal is to prepare their child academically. The second factor is that you communicate with each parent oftenusing vario us methodskeeping them up to date and providing them with both positive and negative feedback about their child. How your students feel about you will impact your overall effectiveness. There is a definite middle ground that lies between being too easy or too difficult. Dont set yourself up for failure by worrying too much about being liked or attempting to be their friends. Doing so will likely cause students to take advantage of you. Instead, start exceptionally strict and then ease off as the year progresses. Things will go much smoother if you use thisà classroom managementà approach. Experience is the Best Education No formal training can replace true, on the job, experience. Students will often be the true educators every day for your first-year teacher. This experience is invaluable, and the lessons learned can drive you to make solid teaching decisions over the course of your career. Have a Backup Plan Every first-year teacher comes in with their own unique philosophy, plan, and approach to how they are going to teach. Sometimes it can only take a few hours or days for them to realize that they are going to have to make adjustments. Every teacher needs a backup plan when trying something new, and for a first-year teacher, that means having a backup plan every single day. Nothing is worse than having a significant activity planned and realizing a few minutes inà that its not going as expected. Even the most well planned, and organized activity has the possibility of failing. Being prepared to move on to another activity is always an excellent idea. Immerse Yourself in the Curriculum Most first-year teachers do not have the luxury of being picky with their first job. They have to take what is available and run with it, no matter how comfortable they are with the curriculum. Each grade level will be different, and it is essential that you quickly become an expert in the curriculum that you will be teaching. Great teachers know their required objectives and curriculum inside and out. They also continuously look for methods that will improve how they teach and present that material. Teachers will quickly be discredited by their students if they are unable to explain, model, and demonstrate the material that they are teaching. Keep a Journal for Reflection A journal can be a valuable tool for a first-year teacher. Its impossible toà remember every important thought or event that happens throughout the year and writing them down makes it simple to access or review at any point. It is also gratifying to look back and reflect on how far you have come throughout your career. Keep Lesson Plans, Activities, Materials Prior to your first year, you might never have had to makeà lesson plans. As you begin creating them, it is important to save a copy and build a portfolio. This should include your lesson plans, notes, activities, worksheets, quizzes, exams, etc. Though it may take a lot of time and effort, you have a terrific teaching tool that will make your job much easier from that point on. Prepare to be Overwhelmed It is natural to become frustrated and hit a wall as our first year will likely be the most demanding. Remind yourself that it will improve. In sports, they talk about the game being so fast for young players that they fail more often than not. However, as time passes, they become comfortable with everything. Everything eventually slows down, and they begin to be consistently successful. The same is true for teachers; that overwhelming feeling will disappear and you will begin to be more effective. Year Two Lessons Learned Your first yearà will be many sprinkled with both failures and successes. Look at it as a learning experience. Take what works and run with it. Throw away what didnââ¬â¢t and replace it with something new that you believe will. Donââ¬â¢t expect everything to work out exactly as you plan, teaching isnââ¬â¢t easy. It will take hard work, dedication, and experience to be a master teacher. Moving forward, the lessons you learned in year one can help propel you to success throughout your career.
